This morning I was getting ready and I saw a preview for a new movie Julie and Julia. The idea is two true stories that follow the parallel lives of Julia Child and a lowly office worker named Julie Powell. What a great idea. There was a young secretary in New York who decided to make every recipe in Julia Childs cook book The Art of French Cooking in 365 days and blog about it.
I can’t wait to see this movie. How inspirational! I got through my day dreaming about my future. Any day now someone will read my blog and want to make a book about it. My Personal Economic Crisis !! …What an inspirational true story it will be, can’t’ you see it?
A young women in the depths of despair not only is she turning 30 this year she has been it hard by the Economic Recession, just about to lose her home, already lost her car, maybe even her fiancĂ©…
A call comes in from Hollywood or New York I hear a voice on the other end: “I love your blog, how would you like to make a book about it?” I gasp in utter surprise, my heart flutters with excitement, and then it stops “Chris, is that you. Not funny” the voice on the other end says “Who’s Chris? This is Ari Gold I love your blog” Sorry I love entourage and I could not think of another name at the moment.
Next thing you know I am telling my Inspirational story on Oprah. And as a surprise Oprah tells me she decided to feature my book on Oprah’s book club. I am an over night success and I keep my home, get a new car, or even better Oprah gives me a car because c’mon she is Oprah Winfrey she does stuff like that. My financial worries are over.
Okay, I got a little carried away dreaming about my future successes. But whatever you need to get through each day. So determined to go with my little fantasy I decided that I was going to look up some of Julia Child’s old shows and tonight I was going to cook like Julia Child/ Julie Powell. I was searching you tube I came to the unequivocal conclusion that Julia being trained in France Loved her wine. To keep myself in the mood I decide to crack open a bottle of wine and join her as I searched for a recipe. The wine definitely helped me stay inspired.
She was a great lady and very humorous I can see why everyone loved her. Nevertheless after an hour of watching Julia on You Tube and three glasses of wine, I remember I am broke and don’t get paid until Friday. I need to pay my electric bill although I have been forced to endure some nights with out lights I prefer not to. Lobster Thermidor ala Julia Child, looks and sound delicious I judge I will have to put it on my to-do list for another night. I will be sure to tell you how it turns out when I do. For tonight I am going to call my other half and ask him to pick up Little Caesars five dollar pizza and maybe another bottle of wine.
I need to keep my glass half full…….so good night and thank you Julia for keeping my hope alive and my glass half full.
